Getting Things Done calls for having as few collection buckets as possible—but as many as necessary. You'd think that the proliferation of my blogs would be anti-GTD, right? After all, three active blogs might seem like a bit much, given that most folks post to their blog for maybe a month or two before abandoning them. This is particularly true for freebie blogs: Folks who pay to have their blogs hosted have a significant investment in them and seem less likely to simple forget about them one day.
Each of my blogs has a unique motivation behind it: photography, personal musings and now, goals (with a side order of GTD). Single-Minded Pursuits came about after reading two articles from ZenHabits in which Leo Babauta writes about having a one goal—not multiple goals dividing your attention—and accountability. This blog strives to give a little of both: I'll be focusing on a single goal and documenting my progress here until 'completion'. The dash of GTD comes through writing about the things that help me along my way.
In general, I've had a keen interest in GTD and workflow kaizen for a couple of years now. But I think I'll have to keep my general interest in the subject to posts over at Gutters & Pedestals, as this blog is to be more focused.
